Hi all,
Welcome! The ExpertFinder list is meant for all topics of the
Joint Initiative on
Extending the FOAF Vocabulary for Expert Finding
You all should have received a welcome message, after subscription,
but here briebly to repeat:
1) The listinfo page (e.g., for
subscribe/unsubsribe/get a password reminder) is at
http://lists.foaf-project.org/listinfo.cgi/expertfinder-dev-foaf-project.org
2) The list is archived at
http://lists.foaf-project.org/private.cgi/expertfinder-dev-foaf-project.org/
Thanks to Dan Brickley for encouraging us in this endeavor,
providing valuable advice, and setting up this list.
We envisage that:
* Discussions here will support defining an (extended) FOAF
vocabulary for expertise description and expert finding via
homepages of people, institutions, and perhaps pages of
conferences, publication indexes, etc.
* Exchanging best practices, use cases, and applications here
should push forward the FOAF notion of semantic annotation of
agents, employing ontologies and rules.
* Results shall base on principles of maximum reuse
of widely adopted formats in a bottom-up approach, as well as the
committment of participants to adopt results in their own environments
as far as possible in order to increase chances of wide adoption.
Please consider to weave your ideas into the ExpertFinder wiki
instead of sending emails to this list (substantial wiki edits
may deserve short email announcements to this list):

Enjoy the list (and spread the word),
Axel Polleres and Harold Boley
