[Expertfinder-dev] Meeting in Athens

Hi Everyone,

My name is Malgorzata (Gosia) Mochol and I work at the Free University 
Berlin.
I will be representing the Free University - Berlin at the ExpertFinder 
meeting during the ISWC2006 in Athens. Before we meet up, I would like 
to let you know something about the work I'm doing.

One of the projects I'm involved in is the development of a human 
resource ontology which has been used in a prototypical implementation 
of a Semantic Web-based job portal. This scenario has also been 
introduced as one of the main topics and use cases in the NoE Knowledge Web.

Another project I'll be working on, expected to start in the next couple 
of weeks, is the development of an intra-corporate ontology-based skill 
management system.  Large businesses frequently have a huge informal 
intranet in which employees detail their interests and abilities on 
individual sites. Unfortunately this often highly detailed data of 
employer skills is not integrated into the company's skill management 
system so that this valuable is rarely ever exploited or analyzed. Our 
project sets out to develop an ontology-based software demonstrator to 
integrate all relevant and useful informational sources in the 
company-wide skill management without providing a uniform platform.
