[rdfweb-dev] RDF PetShop

A little idea for the evangelically inclined, with time on their hands.
Looking at posts like this [1] from Jon Udell suggests that the relational
DB angle probably strikes a good chord with XML folks, particularly as it
moves the focus away from things like XSLT which muddy the waters. (I
vaguely remember Shelley posting stuff using the 'relational approach' a
while back, and was it dajobe had an elevator pitch along these lines? -
anyhow, they seemed to yield a generally positive response).

Anyhow, I reckon Sun gave a right boost to server-side Java early on with
their PetShop Demo. A relatively simple app, it demonstrated many key
features (notably servlets + JDBC), and above all looked real-world. This
demo resurfaced recently in .Net (X times faster/slower, depending who's
talking).

Might something like this work for RDF? Maybe even the PetShop app itelf,
rebuilt using an RDF model instead of an RDBMS? Or even make it cuter -
describe your pets in FOAF..?

Cheers,
Danny.
