this reminds me; i meant to point this essay at this list:

an enthusiastic essay about the net as collaborative exchange forum for
things, as well as ideas. i've talked to the author and his coding
collaborators about FOAF; there's a strong rdf/geo interest there.

something like this - even a simple toy prototype like book exchange -
could be an interesting implementation case for a FOAF network describing
its individual needs to each other, and an RDF scutter/aggregator like
matt's one publishing a stream of 'who-has, who-needs' ... could be a fun
thing to put together. (thinking danbri and libby had related ideas in the  
past, car shares, foaf shops etc...)
