My tool reads and generates foaf:maker too, however it's not enough to 
really determine who the file is about. Consider the use case where I write 
a FOAF description for my son. To conform to the definition of foaf:maker, 
which is actually just a better specified dc:creator, *I* should be labelled 
as the foaf:maker not my son. And to be clear, if a tool automatically 
generates my FOAF for me, then I'm still the foaf:maker (not it); it is the 
admin:generatorAgent.

So if I can't always rely on foaf:maker, what else do we have? An alternate 
is foaf:topic. However a document may have multiple topics, some of 
them not people, so that's no use either.

There's been discussion about this on #foaf today, so rather than re-hash 
that, and give dan time to collect his thoughts, I'll just link there:
