I started getting interested again in Drupal's distributed
authentication and wondered if it could be made more general for use
elsewhere. This led to a couple of posts and a short thread on the
decentralization list

Having thought about this a bit and talked to some other people, it
seems there might be a useful idea here. Enough to justify a little
standards work or at least discussion.

The link with foaf and RDF is that the first thing you have to do
immediately after registering at a new site is fill in a profile. It
would be neat if there was a standard way of collecting key profile info
from a personally run feed/file/website. Which of course, is actually
your foaf file.
