As someone mentioned.. some fund somewhere might be nice. SPI 
(spi-inc.org) might be a good organization to handle the funds. also, if 
you plan on distributing the shirts, openstuff.net might be a good idea.

These are just ideas, both of the organizations are OpenSource oriented 
and so, foaf would support the community too (i'm not affiliated with 
either of these organizations ;)
