Forgive me if what I'm about to suggest is naive and heretical but there's 
been a bit of discussion about using mbox to uniquely identify a person 
recently.  Would a GUID not be more suitable for this purpose?  The only 
problem I see with this is that most people can't generate GUIDs locally.  
There's nothing to stop 'the community' having a few GUID servers running 
a bit of script and serving up GUIDs from a web page though.  Does this 
have any legs or should I get my coat?
