I made a primitive "message in a bottle" page with the hope that some 
old friends might eventually search for my name or their own and land on 
my page. Basically, it's just a page with a bunch of names and places 
that I've been associated with over the years.

It's worked a few times, actually. Another fun part of it is monitoring 
the referer log so i know whenever someone somewhere searches for a 
certain name. If they include another identifying element, for example 
"chris moore baylor university", then I can be (almost) sure it was a 
search for an old friend, although it might in fact be an ego search 
(admit it: you've all done this yourselves).

Another advantage is that i tell people, "if you ever lose track of me, 
just do a google search for 'bryce benton'".

To illustrate how effective this is, I won't provide the link here. Find 
it yourself. See if you can find my email address without peeking at the 
header of this message.
