Are you sure foaf has a very generous interpretation of knows.

group blogs are fine, the problem is the current domain of knows, (I don't
see any problem in saying I know my grandparents, or even saying I know a
company.)

I can agree that foaf:knows isn't often appropriate for a blogroll, we've
had other discussion (someNs:reads was another suggestion IIRC) and I agree
a new property would be good!
