The way you're describing kinship relationships is going to be a

It's a World Wide Web, for God's sake. If you create a data format that
only works for one cultural tradition, you've missed the point entirely.
Data formats are no place for petty cultural bigotry.

I don't have time for the whole explanation of how ethnocentric the
proposed categories are, so I'm just going to point to what I wrote
about XFN a few months ago. It's long and imperfect, because I was in a
really bad mood when I wrote it (I'm in a really bad mood, now, come to
