ok.You might want to take a closer look at

http://xmlns.com/foaf/spec/

whereas the by you mentioned properties skills, working experience, 
education are not really covered and I am afraid one  needs to embed 
other XML covering these kind of stuff, for example

whereas I don't think there is a "standard" out there for this kind of stuff

I think it would be nice if people could "host" their own profile

(e.g. http://foaf.wyona.org/profiles/michael-wechner.html)

 instead of building another social network provider and rather build a 
search provider which makes this kind of information accessible and 
hence people could search for Java developers for instance (which we do 
currently ;-)
