I propose FOAF 1.0, whose specification ought to reside canonically at
"http://xmlns.com/foaf/v" and have exactly the semantics of the
following Turtle document.

<http://xmlns.com/foaf/v#a>
<http://www.w3.org/1999/02/22-rdf-syntax-ns#type>
<http://www.w3.org/2000/01/rdf-schema#Property> ;
<http://www.w3.org/2000/01/rdf-schema#isDefinedBy>
<http://xmlns.com/foaf/v> ;
<http://www.w3.org/2000/01/rdf-schema#label>
"acquaintance"@en ;
<http://www.w3.org/2000/01/rdf-schema#comment>
"http://xmlns.com/foaf/v#a denotes acquaintanceship in a broad sense.
http://xmlns.com/foaf/v#a does not imply reciprocity."@en .

Yes, that’s it.

I won’t pick through the current FOAF vocabulary
(<http://xmlns.com/foaf/0.1/>) or its current specification
(<http://xmlns.com/foaf/spec/20100101.html>). The vocabulary reaches
far beyond what the FOAF project should attempt and far beyond the
expertise of the participants in the FOAF project. The specification
is mostly tutorial in nature and deserves a thorough revision if it is
to remain a prose document.
